When are Patriarchy, Perversion and Phalluses in Women's Spaces, A-OK???
When the choice is between your make-up, or your dignity, integrity, and protection of your womanhood...maybe.
This was less painful to watch than I thought it’d be - which was jarring - because that means seeing this perversion has become normalized and mainstreamed. We’ve seen it so much, that we’ve gone numb to it - this is never a good sign.
For those, especially women, who might say, “so what’s the big deal? A dude in a dress selling products - who cares?” Allow me to refresh you on the definition of “Incrementalism”:
“Incrementalism is defined as a policy or advocacy of political or social change by degrees, meaning it involves making gradual changes rather than large, sweeping reforms. This approach is often used in public policy to implement significant changes through small, manageable steps over time, allowing for participation and input from various stakeholders. In essence, incrementalism emphasizes the importance of gradual progress in achieving larger goals.”
This trans perversion is but a step, on the path to the larger goal. The mistake we’ve always made, is two-fold. First, not crushing these perversions as soon as we saw them. And second, never looking up the road, to see where it all is leading. What comes next will be 100 times worse, than this - in the same way that the totality of this trans-lunacy, exponentially eclipsed the drag queen story hour stupidity.
There were many reasons I wrote this post, but the two at the top of my list were 1) to amplify one woman’s answer to this perverse and insulting challenge to women, from a company that sells self-esteem in small, over-priced bottles and tubes, and 2) a conversation recently had, with another woman.
The first woman laudably and resolutely planted her flag and made her stand. She’s taken up position opposite the perverse, idiotic and still very alive, trans-mafia.
left the following comment on a note, posted by , that highlighted this colon spasm of a story.Lisa’s comment:
Here is the link she included, with Ulta’s contact info: https://www.ulta.com/guestservices/all#Contact_Us
The second woman made the following observations - “women are not so stupid and shallow, that they’d put make-up purchases above the larger and more important issue, of defending women.”
To which I said, “I sincerely hope not, however, this move by Ulta, proves they think women are exactly that - so shallow and captured by brand/status, that they’ll indeed put tubes of goo over and above the defense of their own brand, of Woman.”
And why wouldn’t Ulta think that??
This isn’t the first time they’ve sided against women - under the equitable umbrella of “beauty is for everyone”.
In 2022, Ulta featured pervert Dylan Mulvaney discussing “femineity” on a podcast titled “The beauty of Girlhood”. In the wake of the backlash, Ulta stood by him and their feature of him, with this statement:
"The premise of ‘The Beauty Of…’ is to feature conversations that widen the lens surrounding traditional beauty standards. We believe beauty is for everyone," the company posted in part. " The intersectionality of gender identity is nuanced, something David and Dylan acknowledge themselves within the episode. Regardless of how someone identifies, they deserve our respect."
If there was pushback, by women back then, it was indeed feckless and short lived, as Ulta’s reported revenue for 2024 was US$11.2b (up 9.8% from FY 2023).
They can’t learn the lesson(s), you refuse to teach them.
Back to my conversation with woman #2 - I asked, “so is brand loyalty really more important to women, than the larger question of being supplanted and erased, in every facet of society?”
She said, “it’s not a brand. Ulta carries products you can pretty much find elsewhere. The only “Ulta brand” is the handle bags with their logo on them and the “status” of shopping there, which is idiotic. No woman would put that above the bigger problem “trans” poses for us”
I said, “I sincerely hope not.”
I saw this video a few days ago, and it made me nauseous. For real. My womb-gut-heart (intuition trinity) immediately said HELL NO to this guy's ultra-fake behavior. It's gross...if I were to meet someone like that anywhere at this moment in my life, I would remove myself from that space, right away. Because it comes from a source of perversion, it's easy to see in the way he addresses women like they're toddlers or mentally impaired. This is womanface, slapping on a dress, heels, and some make-up, and claiming femininity, womanhood, women's spaces...and he's not even trans....he's an autogynephile. If he were to come in wearing some fancy Italian blouse, pants, loafers, and behaving that way, I would be less on the fence. Only a little less...But this is maximum cringe.
Women need to be addressed in this; I fully agree with you on that. These two women who are lending themselves for this video, like some token bitch. Where is your dignity....? We can all see this is highly uncomfortable for everyone involved, except this dude in womanface, who's cashing big checks. Women need to start being less agreeable. I come from fashion, so I've seen many hysterical types like these, but Murica let it get out of hand (sorry guys ;P). Anyway, I'm not a make-up gal...I've seen through that grift a looooong time ago. Thanks for promoting Lisa's campaign. You would think by now this kind of crap has had its time. Guess not. Women are not like men in the sense of absolutely destroying a brand by boycott (I'm thinking Bud Light). Too bad, cause we have that power, but I feel women are afraid to assert it. (We need more dangerous woman energy!)
Ulta is kind of eclipsed by Sephora these days. Ulta's true hey dey as was the late 90s early 00s if I recall anything. Even so, this is an annoying display of "women are just adults who act like infants and do frivolous things" which irks me to no end. No, being a woman doesn't mean prancing around in a weird dress and clashing heels squeaking like a piglet. I don't want to be marketed to that way. Yes, we should have been tamping this down right out of the gate. It's the camel's tent now - not ours. https://youtu.be/uG7X84UuVYg
